Responsibilities
The Analyst, Project Controls will assist project / program management with the development and analysis of project cost and schedule data, prepares reports and presentations and make recommendations for moderately complex projects. This position will use spreadsheet, database, scheduling, and statistical software packages to analyze data, spot trends, and develop forecasts and will work independently with minimal guidance. The Analyst, Project Controls will act as a resource for colleagues with less experience and may lead project teams. This position will assist and influence project managers on cost and schedule controls, forecasting, variance analysis, and will provide estimate review, participate in project team meetings, prepare monthly analysis on project costs, schedule, and scope. Qualified candidates will use best practices and knowledge of internal/external business issues to improve processes or services and will solve moderately complex problems; take a new perspective on existing solutions. This position will also assist in preparation and update of project budget and schedule, prepare project metrics, cash flow graphs, update and track costs in relation to project charters, prepare accruals, research and identify adjusting journal entries. This position will also monitor project costs in relation to company capitalization and authorization policies, provide change order support, assist with project close-out, and support customer billing. The Analyst, Project Controls will interpret customer and stakeholder needs; assess requirements and identify solutions to non-standard requests. This position will work closely with internal departments to gain a working knowledge of the project details and will explain difficult issues and work to establish consensus. This position works independently to address a range of standard and non-standard situations and supports and leads internal strategic initiatives.
Ideal Candidate
The Analyst, Project Controls requires a Bachelor's of Science/Arts Degree from an accredited college/university in a related analytic discipline and five years of experience in performing cost and schedule control analyses, with direct experience in the related subject matter preferred. The position also requires strong quantitative skills with the ability to use spreadsheets or other similar programs, strong written and verbal skills and ability to use MS Office. Qualified candidates must be self-directed and have demonstrated initiative. Experience with Project Scheduling software (Primavera), working knowledge of the principles and practices of AACEi and the demonstrated ability to facilitate the creation of a project schedule are preferred. Direct field experience in a construction environment is a plus. In addition, experience with SAP Financials and SAP Project Systems module is also a plus.
