Summary
The Growth team at Uber is responsible for accelerating both demand and supply growth across 300+ cities worldwide. The Growth Planning Analyst role will provide our team the analytical horsepower necessary to understand the relevant trends and optimize our acquisition and engagement decisions. In this position, you will offer a data-driven perspective and work closely with our program teams focused on riders and drivers. You will evaluate the performance of our cities through detailed KPI analysis and help propose next steps based on your knowledge of our shifting market landscapes. Our team’s autonomy gives us the flexibility to focus on the highest-impact projects in this dynamic and challenging role as we bring increasing numbers of riders and drivers onto the Uber platform.
Responsibilities
* Build operational models leveraging KPIs to perform intensive analysis across all areas of our business * Provide variance analyses against critical benchmarks to identify the root cause behind trends * Generate ideas for exploratory analysis to shape future projects and provide recommendations for actions * Demonstrate ownership over various initiatives and ensure we are closely following the agreed upon timelines * Possess a strong bias towards action given how quickly metrics can shift week-to-week, and propose actionable next steps to move projects forward * Create dashboards and reports to regularly communicate results and monitor key metrics in scalable ways * Collaborate with cross-functional teams across disciplines such as product, engineering, operations, and marketing * Present findings to senior management to drive business decisions
Ideal Candidate
* 2+ years of experience in a quantitative analysis role * BA/BS in Math, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or other quantitative field (advanced degrees are a plus) * Excellent Excel skills and strong SQL ability (scripting languages such as Python or R are a plus) * Ability to deliver on tight timelines and move quickly while maintaining attention to detail * Work closely with cross-functional teams to execute on decisions * Self-motivated with the ability to work independently * Strong communication and organization skills
