Summary
The Business Development team at Twitch works in a dynamic environment where rapid fire innovation meets rock solid execution. Our overarching goal is to further establish Twitch as the leading social video platform and community for gamers through growing platform value,incubating new business models, and driving revenue through partners. As part of the sales org and reporting to the VP of Business Development, the Senior Director will be instrumental in building our global content distribution infrastructure from the ground up. The Senior Director will be responsible for managing and executing against the content strategy, including sales and distribution to TV broadcasters both domestically and worldwide. Content includes live programming as well as VOD. The Senior Director shall create a strategic plan to identify ways to package and distribute such content across traditional media platforms to maximize revenue streams. This position is based in NY.
Responsibilities
* Drive Twitch's content distribution strategy, including mapping the partner landscape and prioritizing potential TV partners to overall company goals and objectives * Package, pitch, negotiate and close TV broadcast deals for Twitch’s content that maximize content exposure, achieve revenue targets and meet budget expectations * Identify and cultivate relationships with potential domestic and international media partners * Manage potential third party distribution agents and partners * Attend appropriate industry conferences and trade shows to represent Twitch, create awareness of its programs and build relationships with key target distributors * Coordinate with Legal and Finance to manage contract process from term sheet through execution * Research, evaluate and provide strategic perspective on new business models and opportunities * Be a subject matter expert with regard to content distribution ecosystem generally
Ideal Candidate
* 10 years of experience working in TV business development and content sales roles * Previous significant experience with leadership roles * BA in business, economics or relevant field required, JD or MBA preferred * Expertise in sports and/or entertainment content sales and distribution * True understanding of the eSports ecosystem * Deep knowledge of TV content distribution business models, pricing and licensing terms both domestically (US) and internationally * High energy sales executive, with proven ability to think strategically and close multi-million dollar deals * Ability to thrive autonomously, adapt and re-prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment * Significant financial acumen and profitability analysis * Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally * Experience crafting deals as well as understanding of legal agreements * Ready to travel **Bonus Points** * You’re an avid gamer * You’re multilingual and speak English, Spanish and Portuguese
