Video Player Manager

Founded in June 2011, Twitch is the world’s leading social video platform and community for gamers. Each month, more than 100 million community members gather to watch and talk about video games with more than 1.7 million broadcasters.

As the Software Development Manager for our Video Player Team, you will build next generation digital video products. You own the playback experience that drives 100+ million video views per month for Twitch, across all player platforms including desktop web browser, and mobile web/iOS/Android. Specific responsibilities include developing: Portable Software Development Kit for video clients (e.g., Browser, FireTV, iOS, Android). New video viewing features and business models. Analytics reporting to help improve the user experience.

* Degree in math, computer science, electrical engineering or related field required. Advanced degree in similar fields is a plus. * 3+ years of software development experience with a demonstrated ability to deliver products. * Expertise in Java, C/C++, and/or JavaScript. * 2+ years managing engineering teams

* We'd ideally like to see experience in some of these technical areas: * Front-end web technologies like HTML 5, CSS, and JavaScript.Digital media, Content Distribution Networks (CDN’s), video compression/encoding, or streaming media technologies. * Intense customer focus (we really can’t stress this enough). * Proven ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team.
