JavaScript Engineer - Video

Twitch’s Video Playback Engineering team is at the heart of the experience and we are looking to add an additional resource to help us continue growing our video playback solutions that are used by millions of users across various web browsers, iOS, Android, XBox, PlayStation and more. You will get to join an awesome team working on the players for live streams and video on demand. At Twitch, high-quality user experience across web, consoles and mobile platforms such as iOS and Android is increasingly important. We’re also working to make sure that we have a fantastic user experience on next-generation consoles such as the XBox One and Playstation 4. As a Javascript Engineer working on the Video Playback Team, you will be interfacing with a wide variety of these platforms and helping to shape the future of the Twitch playback experience.

* Develop and improve our video playback experience across a wide variety of platforms * Optimize the user experience for each individual platform * Work with the rest of the Product Engineering team to make sure that features are shipped in parallel across the web and Platform apps * Work with the rest of the Product Engineering team to design APIs that support multiple different platforms effectively

**Requirements:** * 4+ years of professional software development or equivalent expertise. * In depth experience working with Javascript frameworks and HTML5 development. **Bonus Points:** * Experience using Media Source Extensions, HLS or MPEG DASH * Familiarity with the design and implementation of web services and web APIs * Familiarity with Go
