Summary
The Product Manager for CNN Politics is responsible for building new and optimizing existing products and experiences that exceed and anticipate the needs of consumers while contributing to the achievement of CNN Worldwide's business goals. This is a multi-disciplined, cross-functional role to collaborate with key stakeholders - editorial, sales/commercial/audience development/research - in helping lead the product vision, strategy, roadmap, and delivery of best-in-class tools, products, platforms, and experiences across Web and Mobile platforms. Day-to-day, the product manager is responsible for synthesizing needs/data/vision into the description (requirements) and product backlog, and managing the prioritization of what gets done in what order when building and evolving our products.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for product development, planning, and roadmap execution throughout the development lifecycle to ensure delivery on time, on budget, and to specifications. * Responsible for leveraging market insights, audience data and core capabilities to ensure the Product meets goals, KPIs and ROI expectations. * Responsible for being the domain and audience expert in their category - e.g. knows the competitive product/editorial landscape, knows market trends, knows what is in the mind of consumers/users, knows what new feature/technical capabilities can be brought to bear - to ensure CNN remains a leader in a given sector. * Responsible for driving reach and engagement to ensure sustained success of their product(s)
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor's degree required MBA, Certified Scrum Product Owner preferred * 2-3 years of Product Management experience at a medium-to-large media company or consultancy. * Experience in creating functional product requirements with well-composed acceptance criteria and effectively managing a product backlog. * Experience leveraging data, research, and audience feedback/testing to inform decisions. * Experience at a news provide, with Politics as a focal point, is preferred.
