Industrial Designer - Dirt Devil Team

TTI's principal areas of business are power tools, outdoor power equipment, floor care appliances, solar powered lighting and electronic measuring products. The industry giant is headquartered in Hong Kong, maintains a customer servicing network in North America, Europe and Australia.

* The Industrial Designer will be responsible for setting ID strategy within a specific SBU. Works closely with Product Management to define and develop new products, qualifies with sound qualitative and quantitative research and insures the integrity of the ID through the design detailing and engineering phases of programs. Develops product concepts taking into consideration engineering, marketing, production, and sales criteria. Generates concept solutions to consumer problems and unmet needs; test and validated concepts with consumer research department. Prepares concept renderings and support materials for use in marketing and sales presentations. Leads key programs from concept to production; leads the work of other designers in the SBU. * This position will be located in the Marketing Center of Excellence in Charlotte North Carolina. * Key Areas of Responsibility * 25% Sketching/rendering * 50% CAD surface model development/photo realistic rendering * 10% Physical model fabrication * 10% Leading design programs * 5% Other Duties as assigned

**Formal Education / Certification Requirements** * Bachelor's in Industrial Design or related field **Job-Related Experience/ Skills/ Competencies** * 5-10 years minimum experience in consumer durable goods. * Strong sketching skills and ability to generate multiple concepts quickly. * Strong CAD surface modeling skills (SolidWorks, ProE, and Creo 3D modeling is a must. * Strong knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. * Mechanical aptitude and understanding of materials and manufacturing processes. * Ability to lead major design programs from concept thru production. * Ability to function within strict timelines. * Ability to express creativity both visually and verbally. * Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among department members that allows for collaboration over ideas and the appreciation of diversity as well as cohesiveness, supportiveness, and working effectively together to enable each employee and the team to succeed. * Creates an environment where successes are recognized, shared, and celebrated together. * Leads with integrity; conducts business fairly, honestly, and ethically every day. * Team player with an entrepreneurial drive and high integrity; Positive attitude and ability to motivate and energize others. * Strong written and verbal communication.
