Data Infrastructure Developer

TSYS Prepaid is is a leading provider of corporate payroll card solutions that help employers offer a direct-deposit option to their employees. This position is part of a growing Business Intelligence team designated to develop a robust and secure reporting infrastructure for a high volume transactional environment.

- The role requires a mix of programming and database knowledge - Work on developing applications against Oracle databases - Design and development of components of data warehouse systems involving big data and cloud technologies - Work on optimizing transaction processing, reporting and analytical infrastructure - Work on designing and developing applications and solutions to reduce development and support time for the delivery teams - Work on integrating data flow and exchange between OLTP systems and backend applications - The role includes interacting with data architects, enterprise architects and DBAs for resolution of data and design issues

- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering, Information Technology or related field - At least 5 years of work experience in major programming language (Java, Python etc.) with exposure to databases, database development or SQL development - Experience working with databases, Oracle experience is preferred - Experience with version control systems - SVN, Git - Working knowledge of markup languages (XML, HTML) - Familiarity with build tools – Ant, Maven, Gradle - Knowledge of Unix scripting - Willingness to learn and pickup new technologies - Ability to work independently on requirement gathering, design and development and issue resolution - Knowledge of big data technologies (Hadoop, HDFS, YARN, PIG, HIVE), or cloud computing would be strongly preferred - Exposure to frameworks like RoR, Spring or client-side scripting (JQuery, JavaScript) would be a plus - As provided in NetSpend's Background Check policy, eligible candidates may be subject to drug, criminal history, and credit checks, which will be conducted and used in accordance with applicable local, state, and federal laws
