The Digital Copywriting Specialist is integral to the Marketing Expertise Center's interactive team in assisting on social media projects for grassroots and partnerships for truth. Which is a formal way of saying we need someone amazing and creative with a solid set of writing skills to help us with monitoring, execution and maintenance of truth's owned properties; copywriting for online; and project management of a highly awarded and evolving national youth brand.
Responsibilities
- Manage and write copy for truth's social media communities. - Manage partner agencies responsible for creative development and media placement of social media initiatives. - Assist in the development of social media strategy, positioning, and messaging. - Recommend and assist in the development of brand initiatives to engage truth's audience as it relates to gaming, music, among other youth passion points. - Assist in the development of truth's text messages - Assist in creation and execution of copy for thetruth.com - Manage and provide strategic guidance on new brand initiatives with constantly evolving youth target. - Work with internal social media team members and work closely with other Marketing team members to ensure social media activities are integrated into overall brand tactics, including paid and earned media. - Report to senior staff about social media successes and lessons learned. - Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders. - Perform other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
**Specific Skils Required:** - Experience or interest in youth culture specifically within music, sports, gaming and art genres. - Ability to write in truth's youthful brand voice to connect and be relevant through tone and language. - Individual must be creative, proactive, a relationship builder and a strong leader. - Experience interacting with young people and individuals of diverse cultural backgrounds online is preferred. - Individual must be a high-energy professional and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment. - Ability to manage projects through their entire life cycle in collaboration with internal and external team members. - Exceptional writing and grammar skills. - In-depth knowledge of concepts and trends in emerging social media and the ability to translate this into actionable recommendations. - Working knowledge of and experience with online measurement platforms (which may include but not limited to Facebook Insights, YouTube Insights, sentiment analysis platforms among other social media reporting tools). **Qualifications:** - The ideal candidate must be a creative individual with a bachelor's degree and 3-6 years of experience in communications, marketing, new media, advertising or public relations. The individual should have a strong understanding of the social media universe including Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, Vine, Snapchat, blogs, etc. - Excellent communication and computer skills with the ability to work independently and efficiently on concurrent projects; the ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal staff and outside partners/vendors are must-haves. - Advertising agency experience is a plus.
