Summary
Manager Revenue Recognition Accounting Evaluating revenue recognition treatment on software and service contracts and with proficient knowledge of US GAAP standards.
Responsibilities
* Performing subjective reviews of software and service contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition under SAB 104, SOP 97-2 (ASC 985-605), SOP 98-9, EITF 00-21 and SOP 81-1. * Providing guidance to sales teams, corporate accounting, and other business and operational groups to understand and resolve complex and ambiguous issues identified in reviews of revenue arrangements. * Managing the regular maintenance and services VSOE analysis processes. * Ensuring revenue accounting policies are documented and applied consistently on a worldwide basis. * Assisting with revenue recognition training for cross-functional organizations including sales, legal, finance, and operations. * Assisting in developing interpretive principles, tools and operational procedures to build augmented and scalable business processes.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Certified Public Accountant preferred. An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be taken into consideration in lieu of a degree. * Minimum of five years' related experience, with significant experience working in the software industry with emphasis on SOP 97-2 VSOE revenue recognition (ASC 98-605). * Strong US GAAP knowledge and capitalization of labor on software development projects (SFAS 86 & SOP 98-1). * Proficiency with Oracle and Hyperion preferred. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Excellent organizational skills with ability to work under tight deadlines and interact across a broad spectrum of audiences. * Limited travel.
