Summary
The Senior Software Compliance Analyst is a member of the R&D Operations team supporting the Engineering department worldwide. The area of focus for this position is the identification, vetting, and approval of third party libraries and licenses within all of Tripwire’s shipping products. This role is ideally suited for a highly technical yet detail oriented individual with a background in the development, test, and release of software. The Senior Software Compliance Analyst works closely with Developers, Engineering Managers, Scrum Masters, and the DevOps release team.
Responsibilities
* Implement and evangelize best practices and processes for the use of third party and open source libraries. * Execute and implement controls for the tracking, and license approval, of Open Source and Commercial libraries. * Execute third party software forensics analysis using Palamida Enterprise Edition as the primary tool. * Maintain strong internal customer focus while producing results. * Provide input for process improvements that increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the R&D teams in terms of delivery. * Verify software license rules, copyrights, and entitlements. * Perform audit and software license due diligence as required. * Engage legal resources as required. * Maintain software license & proof of entitlement records * All other duties as assigned. **Scope** * Working independently, resolves a wide range of diverse problems utilizing personal judgment and experience to develop solutions in a creative manner. Interacts with employees at all levels of the organization and takes personal responsibility for meeting the needs of the customer while demonstrating an understanding of business objectives. Authority to act within defined policies within the area of expertise/knowledge as directed. Effectively communicates findings to the organization and develops plans for implementation. Determines necessary resources required and develops goals and metrics for function.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, or related combination of industry experience and education * 5+ years professional experience in commercial software development. * Demonstrated understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle. * Familiarity with Software Configuration Management best practices and fundamentals of enterprise build engineering * Experience with both Windows and Linux operating systems. * Advanced knowledge in MS Excel * Basic knowledge in MS Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint * User-level competency on Windows and Linux platforms * Positive self-starter attitude with excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Team player able to deal with ambiguity and dynamic priorities. * Ability to excel in a fast-paced, fast-growth environment where action and initiative are prerequisites to performing well. * Ability to see projects through to completion. * Experience in scanning techniques and forensics analysis using Palamida Enterprise Edition a plus. * Applicants for employment in the US must have work authorization that does not require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States (i.e., H1-B visa, F-1 visa (OPT), TN visa or any other non-immigrant status).
