Summary
The Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for a leadership role in an agile research and development organization, working closely with scrum teams to execute on product backlogs, champion customer focused solutions, drive successful defect resolutions, and communicate product readiness to key product stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Take a lead role and mentor junior staff members, both on and near-shore - Facilitate initiative level planning across multiple scrum teams - Evangelize and implement best QA and Development practices - Apply independence and creativity to problem solving across project assignments - Establish and drive short-term and long-term goals for a small team of test engineers - Design, author and execute automated and manual test procedures to ensure timely defect discovery - Document clear, concise and detailed product defect reports and work with developers to ensure successful defect reproduction and resolution - Engage and participate on an Agile team of a world class software engineers - Provide ongoing project status to direct management and stakeholders - Maintain strong customer focus when producing results - All other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related combination of industry experience and education. - 10+ years of experience in commercial software development with a minimum 5 years of experience leading Software QA teams in an Agile software environment - Experience testing enterprise-class, distributed applications - Experience with an object-oriented programming language such as Ruby or Python is required - Power-user level competency on Windows and Unix platforms - Positive self-starter attitude with excellent verbal and written communication skills - Thorough understanding of the Agile software development paradigm and the Scrum process - Experience with agile software testing and development methodologies, including code coverage and complexity measurements - Experience working with remote engineering teams - Advanced SQL skills is a plus - Experience testing security software is a plus
