Director of Accounting

A highly driven and passionate Director of Accounting who will be instrumental in developing a world class, multi-million dollar accounting department from the ground up. This individual will lead all day to day accounting operations for a rapidly growing startup and will have significant ownership over strategically managing the growth of the department.

• Hire, train, and develop a team of 3-5 professionals ranging from clerks to staff accountants to senior accountants
• Have complete ownership of the general ledger
• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
• Develop and maintain a system of controls and processes that ensure company assets are protected and that all financial reporting is prepared in compliance with organizational policy and US GAAP
• Ownership of payroll processing and related systems
• Ensure accurate and timely delivery of financial statements
• Oversee accurate expense allocations across multiple dimensions of financial segmentation
• Oversee revenue recognition
• Liaise with external accountants and auditors for year-end tax preparation

What makes you a great fit for this role (Requirements):

• You have at least 5 years of accounting related experience, some of which has been in a management capacity as a corporate accountant
• Have experience scaling mid-sized companies ($50 – 200mm in revenue)
• Have prior experience with Netsuite ERP
• Comfortable handling large data-sets in excel
• Possess a track record of academic excellence and have at least a 4-year degree in accounting or other quantitative field
• CPA preferred
• Prior experience with Expensify and Trinet preferred
