Summary
Responsible for sanitation requirements for machinery, equipment, facility infrastructure, and grounds. Develops and maintains plant sanitation programs and procedures. Collaborates with engineers, suppliers, contractors and plant partners to ensure a clean and sanitary facility. Assures compliance with regulatory agencies in regard to sanitation and pest control requirements. Responsible for managing and owning various functions of the business and creating an engaged and team oriented work force in order to improve business results.
Responsibilities
* The Sanitation Supervisor develops and directs the plant sanitation program to ensure the plant operates within good manufacturing practices that comply with Federal, State, and company standards. * Promotes sanitation philosophies and ensures participation amongst the various departments and levels within the facility. * Maintains a rigid and complete sanitation and pest control standard for the facility as established by the company and the demands of our customers and third party food safety and plant sanitation auditors. This standard is periodically reviewed and modified to meet the needs of the facility. * Developing, administering, and evaluating a departmental operating budget and controlling usage rates for chemicals, supplies, contractors, and all other components of the budget. * Knowledge in the use and application of cleaning chemicals, chemical interactions, and safety data sheets. * Responsible for designing and scheduling effective line cleanup and transition strategies, as well as effective cyclical plant cleanups that assures plant compliance to company standards. * Training and monitoring of performance of plant team members to include developing and implementing Skill Validations and moving individual skills forward. * Lead a Continuous Improvement team as it relates to Sanitation programs with an end result of improving overall performance for the department and facility. * Be responsible for the safety engagement, activities, and performance of employees as it relates to food safety, sanitation, and pest control activities.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s Degree preferred * Prior experience in a manufacturing plant leadership role of at least 1 year * Three years of experience in a food manufacturing environment required. * Experience with computers and Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook * Ability to work independently and under time constraints * A high level of personal initiative and expectation for achieving results or maintaining standards * Must be able to stand, sit, bend and be able to lift up to 50 pounds. * Must be available to travel a few times a year for training
