TRC is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join the Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls (EI&C) team in our Houston, TX office. Position is for a Mid Level EI&C Engineer capable of determining specific client requirements and acquiring detailed understanding of the project electrical, instrumentation, and controls design requirements, schedule, and deliverables. This position requires that the incumbent have the ability to originate E/I designs while leading other E&I engineers and designers on the project team. It requires mid level experience and familiarity with methods associated with oil and gas pipeline facilities including, compressor stations, mainline valve sites, regulator and meter stations, storage facilities and pipelines.
Responsibilities
This technical position requires current hands-on experience with a wide range of industrial processes related to pipeline facilities. Our facility project work is for major industrial clients, and include the following project aspects: * Prepare Basis of Design Documents * Interpret and Edit Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) * Non-motor driven pump and compressor station prime mover equipment * Industrial plant medium voltage and low voltage power distribution * Industrial plant substations * Power system analysis (ETAP or SKM) * Grounding system design and calculations * Familiarity with electrical codes NFPA 70, 70E, 497, AGA 3, 9, XF0277, API RP 500, NEMA MG 1-2006, ICS 7.1-2006, etc. * Preparation of the Arc Flash studies and reports in accordance with IEEE and NFPA * Medium Voltage VFD drive application experience * Hazardous Area classification experience, as it pertains to the Oil & Gas environment * Protective relaying design, particularly involving motor protection * Electrical and Instrumentation Construction Drawing Package design * General knowledge of control system design and interfacing to both station control system equipment and client SCADA system * Field testing, start up and project commissioning of the various facilities. * Generation of project documentation * Other aspects of pipeline facility projects as necessary
Ideal Candidate
•Minimum experience required is 7 years in the oil and gas industry •Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from accredited college or university •EIT Preferred but not required. •Requires excellent oral communication skills in English. •Must be able to clearly communicate in speech and writing to other team members and client personnel.
