Summary
The Meriden, CT office is looking for a skilled bridge engineer to lead the team in local projects. The right candidate will possess the ability to solve problems and plan tasks with an understanding of "Critical Path Management" as well as be able to clearly describe observations and convey information with sketches and technical writing.
Responsibilities
* Directs structural/bridge engineering assignments: preparation of reports, plans, specifications and analyses. * Plans and develops projects including definition of scope, preparation of schedule and development of budgets. * Tracks project progress and ensures completion within established time frame and budget. * Interacts with personnel throughout the company, subconsultants, clients and contractors. * Reviews, evaluates and answers questions related to projects in construction. * Develops and presents proposals/presentations to clients or in public forums. * Other duties as may be assigned to meet business needs.
Ideal Candidate
**Qualifications/Requirements:** * Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. * Ability to solve problems and plan tasks with an understanding of "Critical Path Management". * Ability to clearly describe observations and convey information with sketches and technical writing. * Minimum of 10 years responsible experience in bridge engineering assignments. * Ability to coordinate the activities of team members, subconsultants and subcontractors/vendors. **Education/Experience Required or Recommended:** * Bachelors degree (Masters a plus) with a concentration in structural engineering from an accredited engineering curriculum. * National Highway Institute accreditation in Inspection of In-Service Bridges highly desirable. * Experienced in LRFD & LRFR of bridges, with NHI Training * Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer required. * Experience working with Connecticut, Massachusetts and/or Rhode Island DOTs required **Computer Equipment and Software Required or Recommended:** * PC literate * Microsoft Suite * CSI Bridge Analysis * CADD (AUTOCAD or Bentley Micro Station) * PONTIS bridge inspection reporting software (desired) * VIRTIS bridge rating/analysis software (desired)
