Summary
The Financial Analyst will function as a member of the Southeast investment sales team handling complex and highly analytical real estate transactions. This individual will have general knowledge of various real estate asset types, local investment and property markets, and capital markets dynamics. The position will focus on office, multifamily, retail and industrial properties (both institutional and non-institutional). It is the responsibility of the Financial Analyst to focus on productivity and results while exhibiting exceptional customer service when communicating with team members and clients.
Responsibilities
* Preparation of short and long-term cash flow projections and pricing of various property types (office, multifamily, retail and industrial) utilizing Argus, Excel and other valuation programs. * Preparation of investment offering memorandums. * Work with property managers, leasing agents, and asset managers to compile necessary information during sales process. * Analyze financial terms of prospective deals including debt requirements, return expectations, hold period, etc. * Abstracting leases, loan documents and other pertinent legal documents. * Compilation of market information and comparable sales and lease information. * Assist with preparation of responses to RFP/RFQs. * Ensure the timely production, accuracy and quality of work product and compliance with national standards. * Facilitate and initiate relationships within industry for future business development. * Reports to the Managing Director of the Regional Investment Services Group. **Other:** * Communicates by telephone, fax, e-mail, and in-person. * Additional assignments as assigned
Ideal Candidate
**Education:** * Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Business Management, Finance, Accounting, Engineering or related discipline * Master’s degree in Real Estate, Business Management, or related discipline – considered a plus but not required **Experience:** * A minimum of 2 years experience in real estate investment, finance or investment services transactions servicing institutional or non-institutional clients. **Technical Skills:** * Computer proficient, including knowledge in the following programs: * Argus and Excel * Financial modeling expertise * Strong presentation and communications skills. * Thorough understanding of real estate valuation techniques **Personal Skills:** * Must possess leadership qualities * Strong analytical, writing and organizational skills. * Ability to produce quality work in a fast-paced environment * Ability to manage large workloads * Team Oriented * Ability to establish strong interpersonal relationships with clients and project team members * Stays abreast of current market conditions, practices, trends and factors that impact real estate investment markets **Physical:** * None **Other:** * Uses a computer in conjunction with various software packages the majority of the day * Uses office equipment (photocopiers, binders, phone system, etc.) * Uses audio-visual equipment **Teamwork Approach** A detailed list of position responsibilities has been developed so that expectations are clearly communicated. However, it is rarely possible to provide a list that will capture all possible projects and assignments. Team members are expected to assist with additional assignments that may be requested by direct supervisors, and to lend assistance to other members of the team, when appropriate.
