Accounting Assistant

The Accounting Assistant will perform accounts payable data entry accurately and timely invoices for payment. It is also necessary to maintain a good working relationship with vendors and operational team members to secure relevant information to be used for financial reporting purposes and information required by national, state and local laws. The Accounting Assistant will be responsible for making timely bank deposits and minimal posting of deposits into accounts receivable. It is also the responsibility of the Accounting Assistant not only to exhibit legendary customer service when communicating with owners and vendors but also to focus on productivity and results.

* Assist in answering the phone at the reception desk when needed * Work with suppliers to maintain or repair office equipment * Sort checks for deposit into various lockboxes * Copy checks and prepare deposit slip * Order supplies * AP check copy and invoice filed in numerical check order. * Monthly disbursement register printed for permanent files. * Follow specific instructions provided by the field (Fed Ex, send check back to region).

* High School diploma or GED, some college and/or Associates Degree preferred * At least two (2) years of AP/AR experience, preferred * Must have intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel proficiencies * Argus, accounting software such as MRI or Skyline proficiency preferred
