Summary
Toyota Motor North America is looking for a highly motivated and qualified Paint Production Engineer.
Responsibilities
* Lead quality, process, material, cost, productivity, safety, environmental and equipment improvement initiatives. * Lead & support change management. * Provide daily process support. Ensure vehicle and process integrity. * Lead new material introductions to ensure no negative Key Performance Indicator (KPI) impact. * Lead equipment and refurbishment projects and/or process changes. * Support production initiated Continuous Improvement (Kaizen) to ensure no negative KPI impact. * Question and investigate daily inquiries from production and/or process changes. * Coordinate cross-department investigations, including, but, not limited to quality defects, parts defects, and process improvements. * Support Kaizen, Management Driven Continuous Improvement Initiatives (Jishuken) and Quality Control (QC) activities. * Investigate perceived process and/or equipment problems utilizing careful and systematic analysis. * Report out identified problem, root cause, possible countermeasures and recommended solutions to management. * Propose best solutions based on cost, time, feasibility, impact to production, and KPI targets. * Develop project proposals, strategies, operating plans and Proposed Problem Resolution (Ringi’s).
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or similar technical field. * Experience in a technical field (maintenance, tool & die, technician, engineering, classroom/co-op, etc.). * Ability to work up to 25% overtime. * Ability and willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed. * Ability to navigate in and around various equipment on the production plant floor for up to 8+ hours a day. * Automotive Paint experience. * Fluid Dynamics Experience. * Hands on machining experience. * Experience in an automotive manufacturing environment. * Engineering Co-Op experience. * Experience with process design and setup of conveyors and/or robots. * Programming experience with PLCs and/or robots.
