Summary
The Final Assembly Engineer will support and study impact of vehicle model design changes on manufacturing equipment and processes as well as develop a plan for implementing equipment and process modifications to accommodate new model design.
Responsibilities
* Study new model vehicle design change content (provided by Design Center). * Determine impact to manufacturing processes and equipment in the Assembly Shop based on this study. * Determine change points to equipment and processing. * Study historical information of equipment (Downtime, Maintenance required, Previous Punchlist, Ergo) to determine cost effectiveness between replacing or modifying current equipment. * Determine equipment requirements based on vehicle quality and safety criteria of vehicle parts (through utilization of TIS) * Investigate equipment at other North American Manufacturing Companies (NAMC’s) for standardization. * Develop basic equipment concepts for new equipment or modification to existing. * Develop equipment cost estimations based on investigations. * Develop and manage project schedules and prioritize investigation activities. * Coordinate with equipment group and plant side team members to gain consensus on schedule and equipment list development. * Review Plant equipment change point plans to identify missing or duplicate items vs. TEMA Assembly plan. * Ensure Plant Budget is using standard equipment costs, and gain TEMA PE consensus and approval of the plant Ringi (proposal.) * Use standard equipment budgeting list (gentani), identify items that are deficient on the list, and feedback results in order to develop North American-specific gentani. * Follow up on project results through new model SOP and create feedback loop of results into next project planning phase.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor's degree or higher. * Experience working in production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent. * Experience planning or implementing equipment changes at a Manufacturing Plant. * Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. * Experience working in an Automotive Manufacturing Plant. * Experience with AutoCAD and Catia.
