Senior Product Designer/Engineer

* This position will include ideating, prototyping, SolidWorks surfacing and solid modeling * Communicating on a regular basis with our international manufacturing partners * Multi task, multi manage in a team environment * Bring fresh and innovative ideas to each phase of the design process * Be able to communicate with other disciplines within the Boon brand and other business groups * within TOMY for appropriate execution of the projects * Manage the design process around time and cost restraints * Create, or drive the creation of CAD files to communicate concepts, mechanisms and solutions * Managing design and manufacturing to meet intellectual property requirements and safety * regulations

* Ability to design and engineer with a modern aesthetic * Ability to design and engineer within a given set of features and cost parameters * Broad knowledge of materials, especially plastics, silicones-- experience with electronics is a plus * Broad mechanical ability – can create mechanisms, linkages, and assemblies * BA or BS in Industrial Design or Mechanical Engineering * Serious SolidWorks surfacing knowledge— ability to build complex parts, assemblies, and forms * Strong spatial and mechanical understanding * 5-8 years of product design experience
