Analyst – Emerging Services

TNTP is a national nonprofit founded by teachers that believes our nation’s public schools can offer all children an excellent education. The Analyst will play an essential role in the Emerging Services department, working primarily with the Career Pathways and Compensation team to gather and analyze data and develop financial models for our clients that prompt action.

* Working with district partners to collect, clean, and track data from various sources, including HR and school district, school-site, and charter network budgets * Generating descriptive data analysis and financial models * Developing research questions and analysis plans * Preparing clear and compelling written documents and presentations for senior district, CMO and state-level audiences who may not have experience working with complex data * Generating insightful and/or innovative ways of using and presenting data that advance our work and goals * Designing surveys and analyze the results in order to inform next steps and recommendations * Collaborating with other analysts to share and learn best practices and innovative analytic approaches

You enjoy analyzing financial data and are able to present findings in a clear, actionable way. Analyzing and tracking data from multiple disconnected, complex and often imperfect data sets will be an integral part of your job. You can work efficiently and insightfully in data analysis software and can quickly learn new techniques and tools. * Be thorough and accurate. You will have strong project management and organizational skills, helping you manage multiple priorities with attention to detail. * Communicate early and often. You’ll interact with your team and with clients, providing compelling information and motivating them to make changes. You make ongoing process improvements. **Qualifications** * Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or equivalent relevant experience * 1-3 years of experience in finance, accounting, consulting, or operations (preferred) * Excellent computer skills including strong comfort with Excel, SPSS, Stata, and/or R * Additional qualifications include: * Ability to conduct statistical analysis and experience with correlation and regression analysis * Proficiency creating complex data and financial models * Strong written and oral communication skills * Strong follow-through and excellent attention to detail, especially under deadline pressure * Ability to work efficiently and effectively amidst competing priorities * Prior experience leading formal trainings or informally training or teaching others (preferred) * Appetite for identifying opportunities for improvement in process and technique; comfort with sharing constructive feedback
