The Designer, TIME for Kids and TIME Edge, will join a team working to create innovative, multimedia resources for students in grades K-9. With four print editions, weekly classroom web-based apps, and a multifaceted website, TFK reaches almost than 3 million readers. The ideal candidate is passionate about design and digital media. He/she has the ability to visually conceptualize and package age-appropriate compelling content. The candidate must be creative, detail-oriented, and accustomed to meeting weekly deadlines and working under pressure. We are seeking a talented team player with experience. Candidates must be prepared to show a print and/or digital portfolio. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: creating original print and digital designs, creating layouts for a broad range of products, and developing innovative ways to integrate interactivity. He/she must have an eye for style, typography, color, and design.He/she Must be a creative thinker, able to brainstorm concepts, and must be able to work collaboratively with editors and other designers.

* Design layouts for both print & digital * Create kid-friendly informational graphics * Manage and assign illustrators, as needed * Optimize designs that will work for both print, as well as the web * Maintain the brand of TIME for Kids • Be able to design for a younger audience (K-9) * Design for digital products and interactive experiences * Work collaboratively with editors and other designers

* Have 3 -5 years experience • Have knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator * Have experience in designing for the web in Sketch is a plus * Have worked with a CMS like Drupal or Wordpress and WoodWing **Collaborative:** You have a flexible, open approach to work.
