Backend Engineer

Tile has invented a simple and sleek location tracking app that can be used to track any item users don’t want to misplace. Users can place small, affordable Tiles on wallets, purses, computers, luggage, etc., allowing them to communicate within the world’s largest lost and found network.

We're looking for an awesome, fun, smart, hardworking, creative, friendly, responsible person to effectively help Tile execute on company vision, create great products, and make a great working environment. The successful candidate will be passionate about best software engineering practices and have significant experience in all stages of the product development cycle. The job entails participation in the design, development, and deployment of web, e-commerce, and server applications. This candidate should ideally enjoy and participate in movie nights, team lunches, as well as have drive to excel in the company.

* Assist in designing databases to manage our massive amounts of data * Building API's with clean interfaces * Creating systems that are highly concurrent * Collaborating with our architects to build components of the larger Tile network

* Excellent coding, organizational and communication skills * BS or higher degree in computer science or a related field * 1+ years of experience in a production setting * Demonstrable mastery of Java or Scala, C++/C * On the job experience in backend server development (J2EE/spring) * Experience with HTML, Javascript, Ajax, REST APIs, Spring Framework * Previous experience in B2C/B2B e-commerce settings is a strong plus
