Tiffany is searching for a strong team player with a high level of professionalism to manage their Design Development team.
- The Manager, Design Development will have formal goldsmithing and/or metalsmithing training and significant experience as a custom bench jeweler.
- Additionally, the ideal candidate will have significant 3D CAD and model making training and experience.
- Excellent decision making, written and verbal communication skills and manufacturing knowledge required.
- Previous management experience a plus.
- 8+ years’ of professional experience as a custom bench jeweler
- Formal creative Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Jewelry Design, Jewelry Arts, Industrial or Fashion Design, or Engineering
- Management experience required
- Significant CAD and model making training and experience (at least 10,000hrs of hands-on model making preferred)
- Expert skill-set in Rhino, Modo, SolidWorks, T-Splines, Z-Brush, Adobe CS, KeyShot, V-Ray, Maxwell
- In depth manufacturing knowledge of the jewelry industry
- Formal creative design training and experience, with high degree of aesthetic sensibility
- Extensive experience working with diverse materials (i.e. woods/ceramics/rubber) and gemstones/diamonds
- Significant experience building, repairing, and troubleshooting metalsmithing/materials manufacturing processes while maintaining design integrity
- Experience applying formal training/skillset to developing a successful design/collection
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong team player with a high level of professionalism
- Ability to adapt and meet urgent timelines under high demand conditions while managing changes in direction and project time frames
Preferred qualifications include the following:
- Formal goldsmithing and/or metalsmithing training
- 5-8+ Years’ experience as a custom bench jeweler
- Gemological training with GIA or FGA diploma
- Formal gem- and diamond-setting training and experience
- Lapidary training and/or experience
- Industry Certification
