Summary
Lead New Product Development, dual source and special order projects to assure on-time delivery and manufacturability. Collect, apply and archive all product data management information such as bills of materials, routings, work instructions, specifications, and images related to new products. Interact with corporate product development, manufacturing engineers, CAD technicians, model-makers, manufacturing subject matter experts, technical services, quality assurance and operations to satisfy New Product Engineering department's needs.
Responsibilities
* Support the established New Production Engineering (NPE) processes for new product development projects and dual-sourcing projects. Lead all phases of New Product Development from design concept through Production Test Run and assist the manufacturing team with the launch quantity production phase. Create and execute new product development plans to meet target cost and on-time delivery objectives for each phase. Coordinate and document internal manufacturing stop gate sign-offs and post launch reviews. * According to the established project plan provide New Product Development leader with prototype samples, cost estimates, and sign-off documentation including item activation sections, item specs, and final costs for team-center or PAD's. Effectively communicate project updates and any technical challenges/information pertaining to new product development. Collaborate with other internal departments and external vendors to guarantee component availability for on-time development of new product projects. * Collaborate with corporate Product Development (PD) and New Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineers to develop products that meets aesthetic design criteria utilizing the most efficient manufacturing process. Act as liaison between PD and manufacturing. Process all requests for estimates, research component availability and communicate component lead times provided by internal manufacturing planning department. * Input and verify the accuracy of all systematic data such as BOMs and routings as it relates to new, dual sourced and special order products. Assist NPE manufacturing engineers to document images, specifications and work instructions for new product projects.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelors' degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent * 3 to 5 years related experience * Proficient Project Management experience * CAD, Rhino, SolidWorks Skills * Strong communication skills, both verbally and written * Strong computer skills Microsoft package (Outlook, Word, Excel & Project) * Experience with Design for Manufacturability * Ability to work in a team atmosphere * Ability to understand, communicate and create technical manufacturing documentations **Preferred Qualifications:** * JDE or business equivalent enterprise resource planning software
