Pro Marketing Intern

Thumbtack is a local services marketplace that connects customers who need to get things done with local, skilled professionals who can help. From plumbers and painters to DJs and personal trainers, Thumbtack helps millions of customers find the right professional for their project in over 1,000 categories.

Pro Marketing has launched several experiments to find the best way to guide new pros to their first hire. We want to continue testing content formats and distribution channels. That’s where you come in. The Pro Marketing Intern will research, design, launch, and evaluate a new marketing program. This paid internship will be a full-time commitment (40 hours a week) for the 12-week duration. Start and end dates are flexible.

* **Research**. Get to know our pros and form a perspective on how to help them. Once we define your area of focus, research potential approaches and best practices for your marketing program. * **Design**. Define your program format, audience, goals, value proposition and messaging. * **Launch**. Create program materials, relevant campaigns and launch your experiment. * **Measure**. Gather qualitative and quantitative feedback to assess the effectiveness of the program (survey, interviews, pro performance data). * **Recommend**. Synthesize your learnings and make recommendations for next steps. Present your work to various teams within Thumbtack.

**Must-Have Qualifications** * Experience with marketing programs, products or events, either through on-campus activities or previous internship/work experience * Organized and efficient * Strong collaborator, working across different teams to complete a project * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Analytical mindset, and experience analyzing qualitative or quantitative data **Nice-to-Have Qualifications** * Experience in social media, event, community, digital, or email marketing * Previous leadership experience (guiding a team from ideas to results) * Experience in SQL and/or Excel * Experience working with small businesses
