Email Marketing Specialist

We are looking for an Editorial Email Lead who is data-driven as well as editorially experienced to come in and take our email to the next level; to build upon what is already a high-engagement content distribution and native channel, and turn it into a daily-must read.

• Develop and improve best-in-class native email experience
• Manage the email editorial calendar, making sure to put the right content in front of the right recipient at the right time
• Own the engagement growth of a healthy and attentive email audience.
• Own monthly KPI like open rate, and clickthrough rate to make the email into the most effective traffic-driving and native tool it can be.
• Know good images and headlines and how to tweak both to turn web content into an email-native experience
• Liaise with Tech and Product teams to explore product-oriented solutions for optimizing our email automation to ensure Thrillist email sends remain the most valuable, relevant resources they can be
• Spearhead list acquisition through a combination of on-and-off site promotion
• Own template and subject line testing, analysis and implementation across all email verticals
• Stay abreast of the email industry in everything from deliverability, to send frequency, to subject line best practices.

• Must love and respect the power of email!
• A Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of digital media experience
• Proficiency in Responsys Marketing Cloud
• Professional experience with email marketing
• Professional editorial experience
• Professional exposure to media Tech and Product
• A proven track record project managing complicated tasks with successful results
• Must have strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to collaborate successfully across various teams
