Summary
In close collaboration with the Vice President of Compliance and Public Policy, the Senior Regulatory Compliance Specialist will focus on federal, state and international regulatory compliance matters in response to the needs of a diverse array of departments with a focus on Marketing and Sales. This position demands a high degree of organization and understanding of beverage alcohol regulations, specifically as to how these regulations impact our marketing and sales activities.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with VP of Compliance, General Counsel and Sales/Marketing departments to determine if proposed promotional and marketing activities are consistent with federal and state trade practice regulations; communicate with federal and state officials to determine compliance as necessary; Research and review federal, state and international beverage alcohol regulations to ensure compliance; * Communicate with Marketing, Sales and other departments on compliance best-practices; * Review, revise and approve marketing materials including Point-of-Sale materials, press releases, PowerPoint presentations, etc.; * Analyze proposed sweepstakes and contests to determine compliance with federal regulations. Draft rules for sweepstakes/contests and additional activities to ensure compliance; * Review product labels for compliance with federal regulations; respond to federal Notice of Correction; * Work with other members of the Compliance team in order to understand licensing, reporting, taxes, direct-to-consumer, and other areas of compliance; * Research and review case law impacting the marketing and sale of beverage alcohol, as requested; * Other responsibilities as determined by Vice President of Compliance and Public Policy.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree (Paralegal Certification a plus) * Ability to handle a variety of projects simultaneously; * 5 plus years of experience working beverage alcohol compliance/legal; * Excellent verbal and written skills.
