Summary
This Engineering Intern role is intended to expose an Engineering student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering to projects that enhance service quality and equipment reliability by optimizing engineering execution and maintenance processes using Lean practices and Design Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) methodology. Intern will be exposed to many facets of hands-on engineering related to on-going projects at the time of internship. Candidate can expect to be involved in many of the following areas during their term with The Wine Group.
Responsibilities
* Plans, organizes tasks associated with approved engineering projects along with providing technical assistance to the Director of Engineering. * Will assist with plans and direction of engineering activities to meet Operations key performance objectives. * Maybe tasked with oversight on key projects, processes and performance reports. * May be involved on design and development activities to improve, modify or design new equipment, processes and capabilities. * May research design concepts and fundamental technology used for new product or improvements of existing ones. * Can expected to be involved in equipment reliability solutions, root cause analysis for a wide range of manufacturing and winery related equipment. * Technical, mechanical, electrical and engineering support for The Wine Group operations team * Aptitude for hands-on work coupled with strong analytical skills
Ideal Candidate
* Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal * Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex engineering documents * Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquires or complaints * Ability to write Technical positions and articles using original or innovative styles. Ability to make effective and persuasive Technical presentations on controversial or complex topics to senior management * Ability to comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus, statistical theory, ability to work and apply concepts using rigorous analysis * Trained in thermodynamics, structural and mechanical design * Experience in CAD/Solidworks, PLC programming and other manufacturing/industry related control programs * Ability to apply principles of logic combined with applied scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems * Ability to deal with concrete and abstract variables * Ability to effectively utilize outside engineering resources to accomplish Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical portions of projects * Demonstrated ability to multi-task & follow-up * Pursuing BS in Engineering
