Summary
Reporting to the General Counsel, this position will provide legal counsel, advice and management on a wide variety of commercial contract matters, establishing effective working relationships with assigned departments throughout the Company while minimizing or eliminating legal and economic risks and ensuring the goals and objectives of the Company are met. In addition, this position will assist with the negotiation, execution, closing and post-closing administration for the purchase and/or sale of restaurants. This position will also manage other legal department personnel involved in execution and administration of commercial contracts.
Responsibilities
* Review, provide legal advice and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts with assigned departments throughout the Company, such as confidentiality agreements, and purchase, license and service agreements across a wide variety of topics. * Develop and maintain effective working relationships with marketing, operations, engineering and purchasing personnel, and provide legal advice, related to the Company's transactions with its supply chain purchasing co-op, including reviewing and approving inventory purchase authorizations (IPAs) for specific product and equipment purchases. * Assist with the negotiation, execution, closing and post-closing administration for the purchase and/or sale of restaurants. * Supervise and develop other legal department personnel involved in execution and administration of commercial contracts.
Ideal Candidate
* Juris Doctor degree from accredited university and admission to a state bar association as a licensed attorney * Minimum 5-8 years working in law firm or as in house counsel * Experience advising on and negotiating a wide variety of commercial contracts is required. Experience advising on and negotiating restaurant purchase and sale agreements and supply chain agreements is preferred. * Leadership Ability to manage and develop Legal Department staff. * High functioning interpersonal skill set capable of conflict resolution, collaboration, and creative problem solving.
