Summary
In conjunction with the Online Marketing Manager, your direct supervisor, you will play an important role in promoting a wide array of book titles (Print & eBook) to an extremely varied, yet highly-targeted consumer, online. Authors such as Rick Riordan, brands such as Marvel, and Disney franchises from Frozen to It’s a Small World represent a few among a tremendous scope of books for all ages
Responsibilities
**Digital Ad/Promo Creation and Calendar** * Manage the scheduling and delivery process for of all digital ad/promo projects. Collaborate closely with Marketing Managers and Shared Creative Services design team to convey and inform key feedback and employ tracking measures to produce stellar content pieces that are delivered on-time. Projects include display and rich media ads, emails, social graphics, book photography, and more. **Build new (and support current) web platforms** * Be the client-side project manager working directly with third party web developer teams on a variety of different platforms including Word Press, Drupal and Tumblr. Manage updates and enhancements to current web destinations, occasionally support the planning and build of new web destinations. **Editorial and Community management of social platforms** * On a daily basis, cull and curate information presented by Editorial, Sales, and Marketing teams to create compelling “stories” on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, and more. In addition to company social accounts work with key authors to develop long-term strategies and content that will grow their accounts and lead to meaningful engagement. **Synergy with internal teams & major retailer partners.** * Lead the day-to-day collaboration with DI (Disney Interactive) recognizing opportunities for promotion among Disney.com, Disney Blogs and the myriad Social Accounts that represent properties and characters across. Work with Online Marketing Manager to ideate promotions and pitches in order to gain visibility for books. * Work alongside Marketing Managers and Sales teams to support retailer promotions (Apple, B&N, Amazon, etc) orchestrating social media moments that will engage customers and drive book sales.
Ideal Candidate
* 2-3 years experience, working in a media-related environment preferred. * Broad knowledge of web applications (Word Press, Drupal, etc) and language (html, css, etc) preferred. NOTE: This is not a web development job but candidate will be working with web developers, designers, and server-side tech ops. * Proven effective written communication and editorial acumen for social media content is critical. * An appreciation for, and understanding of, great visual communication. Design skill is not mandatory but can be very useful in this role. * Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop) is important for dealing with the exchange and light reformatting of digital assets. The ability to do light design * Knowledge of web trends and special interest in brand marketing. * Enthusiastic, hardworking and collaborative with the ability to work quickly and skillfully under tight deadlines.
