Summary
Responsible for the preparation of labor and non-labor store expenses. Analyses expense performance to plan preparation of monthly expense reports and variance analysis for Field Operations management. Identifies trends, recommending action to improve performance and opportunities for expense reduction. Responsible for the above activity for all Zone stores, and monitors the performance, compares common expenditures, and advises field management of opportunities to close the gap where differences exist.
Responsibilities
- Analyzes essential statistics and data pertinent to the development of the store expense budgets and field supervisory budgets, including store payroll, profit and loss statements, and store comparison. Identifies variances and provides results to management as appropriate. - Monitors monthly expense performance by Profit & Loss line item detail, provides variance reporting and explanation, forecasts future performance, compares expense performance between plan vs. actual. - Develops Financial/ Operational reports at District, Regional and Zone levels that are informational and actionable for field management. - Participates in the development of the monthly operating plan and is the communication point for the District, Regional and Home Offices. - Develops analysis and operational performance for the Zone and Regional Vice Presidents by publishing monthly ad hoc reports. Analyzes major store accounts and supplies Regional and Zone Vice Presidents with exception information. - Acts as a liaison between Field and Home Office regarding expenses & payroll issues. Researches and responds to inquiries from the field & Home Office. - Collaborates with the Home Office to identify and communicate enhancement opportunities for the Zones, Regions and Districts, including P&L opportunities and controllable expenses. Provides exception reporting for AVP, RVP and SRVP. - Provides instruction on report utilization and interpretation to field management. - Works in conjunction with DMs and Field Vice Presidents on the Spring & Fall store bonus plan. Makes recommendations on monthly revisions as appropriate. - Other duties as assigned.
