Product Manager - Decorative Hard Home Products

Ability to develop and communicate a compelling product vision. Develops and executes product based upon that vision and market void, in collaboration with the Packaging Team and Merchants. Ensure the timely shipment of quality, trend right product by developing strong working relationships with Buyers, Agents/Vendors and cross functional team members. Has a strong strategic ability to execute programs utilizing cross department efficiencies leading to successful adoption rates. Inspires, develops and coaches direct reports. Consistently travels domestically and overseas to understand fashion trends, color and global climate. Regularly shops all levels of stores including our own and competitors for fashion, trend, color direction and value.

- Develops a compelling product vision incorporating trend right product quarterly. - Initiates the development process according to time and action calendar. Collaborates with the Packaging group and Merchants. - Develops strong working relationships with Agents/vendors. Ensures product details are clearly communicated and understood by Agents/Vendors. Ensures all production problems are addressed and resolved in a timely manner. Ensures product cost is in line with buyers expectations for value and profitability. - Works with the Agents/vendors to develop new techniques and concept samples. - Reviews all samples received from vendors for compliance to standards. Directs vendors how to correct problems and other components if necessary. - Strong strategic ability to execute programs utilizing cross department efficiencies leading to successful adoption rates. Based on global climate conditions works with team to develop programs that are executable and production efficient. - Manages delivery and production flow, accounting for the Time & Action calendar. - Provides appropriate direction and support to associates. Sets clear and challenging goals, measures progress against them and gives regular consistent feedback. Flexes leadership style based on individual needs of associates. - Travels domestically and internationally to work with agents/vendors and to shop in order to understand fashion trends, color and global climate. - Regularly evaluates vendor performance providing feedback concerning Agent/Vendor issues and recommends solutions. - Performs special projects as assigned.

- Degree in Home Product Design and/or Merchandising preferred. - Former experience in decorative home accessories, frames, seasonal or related home fashion products. - No less than 5+ years with directly related experience, with no less than 2 years of leading and developing others. - International travel experience - Proficient in Photoshop/Illustrator - PC skills including Microsoft Office - Broad-based knowledge of hard home production - Detail oriented - Effective communication skills - Strong math skills - Developed fashion sense and taste for home furnishings - Ability to communicate and interpret conceptual design ideas - Strong organizational and follow through skills - Works well as a team leader - Ability to handle multiple projects - Strong interpersonal skills - Strong understanding of retail merchandising - Envisions the future and anticipates trends and their implications for the company - Fosters an understanding of the company's strategic direction in others - Demonstrates expertise in their functional area
