Summary

Were growthing the organization and looking for a business development manager to share our offering with more growing companies in SF! This role is primarily sales focused with an aspect of client and account management. With support and oversight from the Director of Growth, this role will have the opportunity to build out a network of hiring managers, client contacts and partners in market with the goal of bringing in new clients. This will include calling and emailing into prospects, building channel relationships and market research. Once successful in bringing in new clients, this person will partner with our internal recruiters to ensure that high quality recruiting services are being delivered to the clients.

Responsibilities

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Business development and Sales

    • Conduct market research by using jobs boards and other industry sites (Glassdoor, Linkedin, Ventureloop, etc) to identify potential target clients
    • Generating new business via calling and emails to prospective clients to discuss their hiring needs and The Sourcery value proposition
    • Engage with target companies and hiring managers by setting meetings and sending proposals, ultimately closing business and bringing on new clients
    • Identify sales opportunities through candidate engagement during the recruiting process on other active Sourcery hiring projects
    • Join industry groups, attending industry events, and build professional relationships
  • Client support

    • Translate client hiring requirements into a project plan that can be presented to clients and used to monitor and manage recruitment progress (client reports)
    • Manage communication with clients on open roles, including scheduling and running status update meetings, collecting information from clients and preparing status updates and reports
    • Partnering with internal recruiters to ensure that quality recruiting services are being delivered to the client

Other duties

  • Time management:

    • As a salesperson you are given a high level of autonomy to set and attend meetings and networking events, ultimately making your own schedule. To be successful in this role, you will need to balance your time between client management, sales prospecting and internal work.
    • Measure and track all client and sales activities in The Sourcery CRM (Insightly)
    • Hit weekly/monthly/quarterly activity goals
  • Teamwork:

    • Frequently and effectively collaborate with Sourcers, Recruiters and Lead Recruiters to optimize sourcing strategies, messages, and/or processes
    • Partnering with the Director of Growth to understand and evolve the sales process and bring in new clients
    • Taking a consultative and client-focused approach to sales and services delivery when working externally with clients and internally with our team

Supervision Received:

This role reports to the Director of Growth with visibility and support from Director of Recruiting Services and lead recruiters on our team

Supervision Exercised:

This role will (for the time being) have no direct reports. This person will partner with and have access to The Sourcery recruiting team. Once promoted, this role will oversee a team of 1-3 recruiters.

Required:

2-4 years of previous recruiting industry and/or customer-facing experience in sales Embodies the core values of The Sourcery and standards of The Sourcery: provides and accepts feedback, teamwork, good judgement, professionalism

Definitions of Success within this role:

Introverts may not be the best fit here. A successful candidate will build relationships, work with the Director of Growth to bring in new business, and (hopefully) have the desire to be promoted into a team lead. This role will be a combination of work in the office as well as out in market on meetings.

  • Initially, goals will be set around activity (networking calls and emails, meetings, attending events) and will evolve into quota-driven metrics.

This position offers a solid base salary and uncapped earnings, along with the opportunity to be promoted into a team manager in the first 12-18 months.
