Responsibilities
Serving as a field-based extension of our Client’s Medical Affairs Department, the Community Oncology Liaison (COL) will represent the Company and its approved oncology product indicated for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer. The COL will provide clinical and scientific education to community based oncologists about the correct use of the product, build long-term peer relationships with these stakeholders, and establish rapport through highly scientific product and disease related discussions that not only support or expand current therapeutic concepts, but also ensure the safety and efficacy of Company products. Accountabilities: - Develops and maintains long term, peer-to-peer relationships with critical stakeholders including thought leaders (TLs) and other health care professionals (HCPs) specializing in oncology treatment and supportive care. - Provides scientific support and leadership to medical affairs (MA) and commercial partners including training, education and other scientific projects. - Demonstrate clinical, scientific, and technical expertise in the oncology therapeutic area. - Collects and communicates clinical insights and intelligence on the market environment, clinical strategies, competition and other developments relevant to the company’s success. - Represents the company and supports select local and regional scientific meetings. Interprets and reports findings with recommendations for action to relevant internal stakeholders. - Identifies opportunities to partner with TLs on disease state initiatives of interest to and in alignment with strategic objectives.
Ideal Candidate
Qualifications: - Advanced clinical/science degree: PharmD, PhD, MD or equivalent preferred. (Master's level RN’s, NP’s and PA’s with Oncology and field based medical experience will be considered) - Oncology experience required (lung cancer desired) Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred (field based medical, medical information, sales) - Working knowledge and understanding of PhRMA Code, FDA and OIG guidelines - Demonstrated expertise in drug information communication. - Ability to integrate and work in a cross functional network. - Demonstrated project management ability. - Ability to build productive work relationships both internally and externally - Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications - Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills. - Position is field based. The COL will be required to live in the territory which they manage or within 50 miles of the territory borders. - Ability to travel up to 70% (approx.8-10 overnights per month). - Valid driver’s license.
