Summary

We are currently seeking an Associate Accounts Representative for our Retail Department - Advertising Division. This is an entry-level position partnered with advertising sales team to increase sales revenue. The successful candidate will achieve mastery in acquiring, practicing, transferring and applying multi-media sales skill processes and competencies to sell solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a multi-media sales aptitude, through career skills, competency training, assessment and customer field work.

  • Develop a working knowledge of advertising client businesses and industries.

  • Fluency and understanding of internal and external multi-media advertising terminology and philosophies to readily communicate features and benefits of various solutions to meet customer needs.

  • Perform consultative CIA and present effective solutions.

  • Keep abreast of competitive media strengths and selling techniques to know what is developing in the market and track other media sales against The Charlotte Observer.

  • Participates in training sessions and demonstrates comprehension of Observer training modules.

  • Strong adaptability/flexibility

  • Exhibits technical competency, e.g. updating our CRM, creating client-ready proposals in PowerPoint, etc..

  • Publishing, advertising or media experience preferred.

  • At least one (1 year) sales experience. Telemarketing sales experience preferred.

  • College degree preferred.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent customer service skills
