We are currently looking for a Senior Network Architect who has the experience, vision and drive to continually chart the course that evolves all aspects of the global network in a way that meets or exceeds the business needs of tomorrow.
Responsibilities
* Development of global secure network design plans and the development of reference architectures and standards for secure networking across the global 150 site enterprise. * Understanding technical network requirements in order to design and plan for advanced next generation solutions in the areas of Local Area Networking, Wide Area Networking, Core Networking, Network Security and External Connectivity to a global network to satisfy the continuously growing business needs. * Working closely with the Infrastructure Enterprise Architect to ensure Network design and future direction/technology aligns into the global infrastructure strategy. * Anticipating future industry technology shifts that will have a material difference within the network landscape and ensure the network is holistically positioned to take advantage of or appropriately mesh with the upcoming shifts. * Leading the visionary and strategic thoughts of the Network Team and driving the strategies that ensure the Lubrizol network will support the business needs being planned for the future. * Continually driving the cost of the network service towards a lower cost model without compromising the network’s ability to support the business needs of the network. * Ensure the initiatives / improvements being planned / installed into the different disciplines of the global network are well orchestrated from an overall network perspective. * Engage and win support of the Lubrizol global network team members as well as other relevant IS teams towards the network technology vision and ensure a collaborative effort is leveraged. * Effectively mentoring and developing existing team members in a positive and accelerated fashion.
Ideal Candidate
**To be considered for this role please meet the following requirements:** * A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or closely related. * Extended experience as network/security architect for multinational $1B+ enterprise. * Minimum 12+ years of hands-on in a Network Engineering and/or Network Architect role. * High degree of focus on customer with an eye toward running IS like a business. * Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. * Comfortable initiating change; consciously managing and shaping change. Is able to handle the stress related to balancing multiple issues and perspectives. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills and effectively interact with all levels of management from application developers to the CIO. * Exceptional planning and organizational skills. * Ability to be on call or assure critical incident response 24x7x365. * Quick thinker, experienced in unconventional problem solving. * Must be flexible, reliable and able to manage multiple priorities. * Good interpersonal skills including positive attitude that result in highly effective relationships both internal and external to Lubrizol. * Ability to translate technical solutions and architecture to Senior IS Leaders. * Team player with excellent relationship building skills. * Ability to work flexible hours and meet deadlines. * International mindset – must be able to deal with a diverse, international team. **Considered a Plus:** * Cisco certified CCDP, CCIE and CCNP. * Ability to speak one or more foreign languages. * Familiar / certified in ITIL framework.
