Maintenance Electrician

The Maintenance Electrician will be responsible for the quality of process related systems of all The Lubrizol Gastonia Plant’s electrical, instrumentation maintenance, calibration and repair. Perform preventative maintenance on critical electrical equipment throughout the facility.

* Perform repairs and maintenance tasks for the buildings and grounds * Perform trouble shooting, maintenance, repairs and replacement for production equipment. These include but are not limited to: * Pump motors and variable speed drives * Level devices throughout the facility * Heat tracing * Load cells on certain tanks * Lighting * PLC communication with certain equipment * Participation in inventory and recordkeeping * Participate in computer based training * Work closely with Process Control Specialist on projects involving automation * Work closely with engineering on electrical needs for specific capital projects * Other duties as required and directed by the Electrical Lead or Process Improvement Engineer

* High school diploma * Electrical certification or formal electrical training * 3-5 years of industrial maintenance electrician experience * Ability to safely work independently and in team settings by following all required procedures * Strong organizational skills and self-motivation * Ability to follow departmental practices and procedures * Strong mechanical skills – able to use a variety of hand and power tools * Strong interpersonal skills (oral and written communication) * Flexibility with schedule and work duties * Good computer skills considered a plus * Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and schematics **Preferred Skills** * Ability to respond to unexpected conditions/emergencies * Certified Journeyman Electrician – TDLR license * Ability to work in various environmental conditions (heat, humidity, cold, wet) * Skill in handling multiple priorities and meeting critical deadlines
