Summary
* Our client is currently seeking a Warehouse Manager for their - Baked Goods production plant. * Excellent Popular Baked Foods Manufacturer * Excellent compensation * Local candidates only. No relocation assistance provided * Location is in the NE suburbs of Metro Atlanta - Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Warehouse Manager will be responsible for leading and directing the receiving, shipping, material handling and inventory management operations at Our Client's manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities
* Maintains warehouse operations by initiating, coordinating and enforcing programs, policies and procedures to ensure product availability and excellent customer service. * Coordinate production allocation to storage facilities and customers; maintain and supporting a good working relationship with internal and external customers, supply-chain and production schedulers. * Achieves operational objectives by contributing warehouse operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; developing and executing action plans; implementing safety, quality, productivity and customer-service standards; resolving issues; identifying and analyzing trends. Meets financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing and managing an annual budget; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions. * Develops warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements; developing, implementing and evaluating policies and procedures; developing processes for shipping and receiving, equipment and storage utilization, inventory management. * Controls and manages inventory levels by conducting cycle counts, physical inventories and reconciling with data storage system. Ensuring optimal inventory levels are maintained in order to fulfill daily production needs while ensuring FIFO compliance. * Support and ensure compliance with all employee safety programs, quality programs including HACCP and SQF requirements, continuous improvement initiatives and food safety programs. * Evaluate and implement initiatives to decrease costs and manage inventory variances while maintaining/increasing service levels. * Develops and implements improvements by leading continuous improvement projects, analyzing process work flow, labor and space requirements and equipment layout. * Manages warehouse resources, supplies and other consumables. * Maintains and supports a good working relationship with internal customers, vendors and external customers. * Maintains safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following and enforcing safety standards and procedures as an active member of the facility safety team * Reviews and identifies talent to meet staffing needs. * Lead a team of supervisors, foremen and hourly workforce. * Meets regularly with direct reports to set goals and monitor progress toward goals. * Gives ongoing feedback and conducts formal performance evaluations in a timely manner * Delivers or provides for training and resources required for direct reports to perform their roles. * Oversees and delivers required training to plant management and personnel. * The responsibilities associated with this job will change from time to time in accordance with the Company’s business needs. More specifically, the incumbent may be required to perform additional and/or different responsibilities from those set forth above.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree required * A minimum of 5 years of warehouse/distribution or operations supervisory/management experience in a Food Manufacturing environment is required * HACCP and SQF experience a plus * Extensive experience working with warehouse/inventory management systems required Experience with Continuous Improvement required (i.e. Lean, Six Sigma, TPM) * Computer proficiency required(Excel including graphing, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) Strong and effective communication skills – written & oral * High customer service orientation * Ability to work flexible hours required
