Senior Food Scientist

Our client is currently seeking a Sr. Food Scientist for their R&D facility in Missouri. This position is part of Our Client's protein ingredients group(milk powder, condensed cream, and anhydrous)
- Will manage 4-5 projects at a time
- Will work with production plants to support product changes (i.e. customer wants to change the packaging from totes to drums – this person will be instrumental in managing the project), not as much day-to-day product development as product support.
- Will test technology processing.
- No direct subordinates, and will report to the Research Manager who reports to the SR. Executive VP(high visibility).
- Understand customer needs and be able to propose and develop technical solutions.
- Lead, plan and implement specific projects and objectives that drive value and profitability for the business unit.
- Dairy industry leader
- Lead and manage technical initiatives for dairy protein business unit.
- Bachelor's degree in food science required(Master's Degree preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in dairy product processing required(Spray drying experience preferred)
- Must have experience in Production, Lab Quality, and R&D required
- Certification and/or License is a plus
- Knowledge of food chemistry, microbiology, dairy processing, and food formulation and process required
- Knowledge of plant operations and manufacturing processes required
- Knowledge of international product specifications and requirements
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and company computer systems
- Strong critical thinking, analysis, mathematical calculations, and statistical evaluations skills
- Well skilled in laboratory methods and equipment usage, as well as pilot plant scale equipment
- Strong skills in project commercialization from development to market
- Excellent communications skills(Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently)
- Able to analyze and make recommendations from large amounts of data
