Summary
Our client is currently seeking a Safety/Training Manager in the metro Atlanta area.
Responsibilities
* Identifies and evaluates hazardous conditions and practices developing practices and programs to correct or reduce their occurrence. * Administers and processes workers' compensation claims including doctor appointments first insurance reports payment of medical bills review of medical reports and contact with doctors insurers lawyers and employee counseling to ensure responsiveness accuracy thoroughness and timeliness * Provides assistance to plant personnel to improve safety and health of all employees * Investigates and reports on serious injuries to line or staff employees * Reviews company accident statistics and recommends corrections to improve overall employee health and safety * Develops plans and conducts training programs to ensure understanding of and compliance with company policies and procedures. * Investigates and responds to employee complaints unemployment claims and workers' compensation claims to provide high quality internal customer service. * Attends and coordinates department safety meetings * Performs other related and assigned duties as necessary.
Ideal Candidate
* BA or BS degree in related field is required * Food manufacturing experience preferred, but not required * Minimum three to five years’ safety management experience in a manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of experience * Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace requirements, including OSHA Log 300 * Solid understanding of ergonomic principles as they pertain to a production environment * Possess basic first aid and CPR skills and certification, or obtain as condition of employment * Ability to work as part of a team and support management directives * High level of organization and recordkeeping skills * Bilingual Spanish/English a plus!
