Production Worker

The captivating story of Hershey's spans nearly a century and a half of industrial and social change. It was in the year 1894 that candy manufacturer Milton Hershey made the decision to try adding chocolate coating to his caramels.

Production Workers are responsible for the safe handling of Twizzler's candy products. Production Workers may work in a variety of roles within the plant to include loading boards into a machine, inspecting product and/or load product into wrapping machine as well as packing product. Production Workers are responsible for maintaining our highest sanitation and quality standards, performing daily audits and completing daily production paperwork. Production Workers work on various production and packaging machinery within our team environment.

* Perform work tasks such as loading boards into continuous-run extruder machine, inspecting, and / or load candy into wrapping machine as well as packing product * Observe all safety procedures * Take responsibility for producing high quality product in each step of production * Maintain clean work area * Observe and follow all Good Manufacturing Practices

* Must possess a High School Diploma / GED * Must be at least 18 years of age * Must be able to read and write English * Must be flexible to work any shift (1st, 2nd, and 3rd). Must be available to work weekends, holidays and overtime as scheduled. * Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs * Must be authorized to work in the United States * Previous manufacturing experience is desirable * Previous food manufacturing experience is highly desirable * Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is desirable * Experience with Safe Quality Food (SQF) practices is desirable * Experience with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is desirable * Experience with Autonomous Maintenance (AM) is desirable * Experience with Kaizen or other Continuous Improvement methodology is desirable * Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:* * Good hand-eye coordination * Focus on maintaining excellent quality * Ability to follow directions well * Ability to work independently within a team environment * Close attention to detail * Physical Demands:* * Light to moderate physical effort required * Must be able to occassionally lift up to 50 lbs * Regularly required to stand, walk, reach and move around machinery * Repetitive use of hands, wrists, and forearms
