Hershey's Chocolate World PT Dessert Decorator

The captivating story of Hershey's spans nearly a century and a half of industrial and social change. It was in the year 1894 that candy manufacturer Milton Hershey made the decision to try adding chocolate coating to his caramels.

The *Dessert Decorator* works to decorate cakes and other desserts in view of and interacting with Hershey’s Chocolate World visitors. This position assists with the daily finishing of baked goods and desserts, ensuring attractive and proper presentation for displaying pastry items and desserts in several areas across Hershey’s Chocolate World and for advanced orders and events. This position follows HACCP policies and procedures to ensure the safe preparation of all items. This position will also provide prompt and courteous service to Chocolate World visitors. Special focus will be made on exceeding guest expectations and constantly improving our high standards of customer service. Accuracy in money handling, order taking, and following directions are job skills that will also be emphasized.

* Greet, welcome and extend service to customers, meeting or exceeding service standards * Decorate cakes according to customer requests and standards set by Executive Dessert Chef and assist Supervisor as needed * Maintain proper amount of frosting * Serve food and beverages according to standards for portion and presentation * Meet all food safety and sanitation standards * Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities: * * Must be 16 years of age or older * Must maintain a neat appearance and meet the uniform standards * Must be able to push, pull, lift, carry 25-50 pounds, and overhead lifting may be required * Must be able to walk or stand for 5-8 hours * This role will require bending, stooping, and twisting * This role requires repetitive motion of the hands, wrists, and forearms * Must be able to work at a fast pace and remain focused, accurate and efficient * Must be able to communicate effectively with guests and fellow coworkers and function as part of a team * Must have basic math skills (add/subtract) ** Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:** * Education: No formal education is required * Experience: Experience cake decorating or similar experience is required
