The Aerospace Corporation has provided independent technical and scientific research, development, and advisory services to national security space programs since 1960. We operate a federally funded research and development center (FFRDC) for the United States Air Force and the National Reconnaissance Office, and support all national security space programs.
Responsibilities
**Duties:** - Conduct requirements analysis and software development to support the creation of satellite emulation environments. - Interface with satellite subsystem experts to integrate their simulations and hardware into developments of interest. - Perform modeling and analysis to assess threat effectiveness and system impacts. - Actively participate in a range of technical and programmatic activities, including, but not limited to: defining requirements for new systems and upgrades, evaluating system designs, monitoring contractor development activities to ensure compatibility with integration and/or transition plans, planning/executing system testing and mission assurance activities, supporting independent program and readiness reviews, and formulating operational acceptance strategies - Produce written and oral reports as required by customers and management.
Ideal Candidate
**Qualifications:** - A bachelor degree in electrical engineering, computer science or a related technical field required; advanced technical degree desired. - Minimum of five (5) years of experience typical for this position - Experience performing space system engineering, software development, modeling & simulation, and operational support is required. - Experience with MILSATCOM architectures, operations and user requirements is highly desirable. - JAVA, C/C++, JSP, HTML, Javascript development skills highly desired - Experience with Apache Tomcat, JETTY, LINUX as well as Windows highly desired - Experience developing and using satellite ground, sensor, and bus system simulators highly desired. - Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers. - Demonstrated ability to function on multi-disciplinary or geographically dispersed teams is required. - Ability to manage multiple simultaneous tasks, and be flexible and adaptable to changes in tasking desired. - Secret security clearance required. - Some travel required.
