Planning Engineer

Coordinates and optimizes refinery planning activities. Prepares inventory balances and production plans for refined products with summary of key concerns. Prepares production plan and targets. The Planning Engineer is key in generating and prioritizing optimization options.

- Collaborates with schedulers and peer planners to manage and optimize inventory, shipping constraints, and production. Provides clear communication of the plan and options. - Provides input into assessment of new product specifications for feasibility and production costs. Proactively identifies optimization opportunities to increase efficiencies in the tankage and pipeline logistics network. - Provides daily blending, production, and distribution direction. Monitors stream qualities and interfaces with Operations regarding unit optimization to meet product quality KPI's. - Prepares prompt and monthly operating plans. Leads planning review with Operations. Ensures inventories are structured to minimize pipeline delays, shipping demurrage, and identifies product imbalances. Works with Supply Trading & Optimization and with Marketing to resolve issues. - Coordinates with Operations and Maintenance to identify plant constraints and maintenance opportunities.

- Minimum undergraduate degree in engineering required. Chemical Engineering degree preferred. - Minimum 7 years in refinery operations, process engineering, or planning/economics required.
