Summary
Oversees all internal line inspections (ILI) for pipelines, selection of inspection methods and smart tools, defines repair requirements, defines pipeline designs, performs engineering evaluations, performs hydraulic calculations and modeling, makes material selections, defines specifications, conducts reassessments, defines pressure testing programs and oversees all associated programs and documentation for pipeline integrity engineering and projects. Provides consistency in the implementation of all work with the Integrity Management Programs (IMPs), and with all IMP documentation, throughout all Regions.
Responsibilities
- Functions as a corporate SME (Subject Matter Expert) regarding pipelines and associated Inspection and Integrity programs. - Manages all aspects of pipeline facility integrity projects on pipeline assets and terminal assets in Alaska, Washington, Idaho, California, Utah, Montana, and North Dakota. Conducts audits of Regions regarding compliance with established programs, protocols and documentation. - Manages all aspects of integrity projects: develops pipeline purge and cleaning plans; pipeline inspection plans; assesses integrity; assesses inspection data; develops dig and repair or replacement plan; manages inspection data. - Documents projects in accordance with Integrity Management Program (IMP) and Operator Qualification Plan. Enhances IMP to maintain consistency with industry developments and government regulations. - Maintains/updates integrity data base for each project; provide input and facilitate the risk assessment process and fitness for services evaluations. Integrates historical integrity data to develop a comprehensive integrity picture of the line segments being assessed. - Develops assigned project scope, estimate, schedule, assessment method, vendor selection, contractor selection, on-site construction oversight, management of change, safety and environmental oversight, and all other project tasks required to successfully accomplish project goals. - Manages all aspects of multiple and concurrent pipeline inspections and repairs programs from conception to fully operational and reassessment comparisons to previous inspections and repairs. - Develops and maintains inspection work processes, programs and procedures. Maintains inspection and reliability best practices and facilitates revisions relative to pipelines and terminals. - Develops and maintains inspection historical data base, defines inspection frequencies for pipelines, interconnecting piping, terminal piping and tanks; and maintains web-based inspection tracking of inspections. Facilitates timely implementation of inspections relative to established frequency. - Ensure maintenance of all historical inspection documents and records, including Alignment Sheets, Centerlines, etc., and incorporation of inspection updates. - Develops cost estimates and budgets. - Tracks and manages costs relative to budget.
Ideal Candidate
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required. - Minimum of 7 years of experience with integrity management, operations, and pipeline maintenance in the pipeline industry is required. Experience with management of contracts and/or field contractors is preferred. - Thorough knowledge of CFR Part 195 and 192, OSHA, ASME, API, ASTM, and NACE Codes and Standards
