Summary
With guidance, provides data acquisition, analysis and modeling on economic trends in oil and energy industries and domestic economy. Gathers wide variety of data and information. Assists models and price forecasts. Provides analytical input into development of supply/demand balances for long and short term planning cycle.
Responsibilities
* Assists in development of economic models for long term trends, forecasts, and outlooks relating to the development of strategic guidance for the corporation. * Gathers, analyzes and consolidates a wide range of market and economic information relating to the oil industry and the broader economy to provide a basis for future outlooks. These include government and industry publications, news services, price discovery services, consultant and other subscription services, and other sources of market information. * Assesses long term trends in periphery markets and issues which relate to future supply and demand fundamentals for the downstream oil and gas industry. These may include (as example) alternative fuels, alternative engine technology, proposals for industry regulations, or industry specifications, etc. * Participates in short term (120-Day plan) forecast development as a participant. * Maintains and enhances mathematical models to forecast crude oil and product prices. * Researches and analyzes market fundamentals and industry intelligence relative to impacts on pricing and operating forecasts.
Ideal Candidate
* Minimum undergraduate in accounting, finance, economics, engineering, business administration or related discipline required. * Minimum 0- 3 years financial or business analysis required * Basic knowledge of fundamental economics * General understanding of business fundamentals * Strong oral and written communication skills * Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint * Ability to perform routine or basic analysis
