UX/UI Designer and Development lead, Tesla Energy

Tesla is accelerating the world’s transition to sustainable transportation and electricity consumption by designing and manufacturing electric vehicles and energy storage systems. Based in California, Tesla employs more than 13,000 people across four continents, and manufactures cars at our factory in Fremont, California.

Tesla Energy is looking for a User Interface designer and development lead to design and implement external and internal facing user interfaces, including web and mobile Apps. Some UIs are at an early stage others will be (re-)designed from scratch, so you will need to be able to phase in and setup completely new UI design concepts in line with Tesla’s corporate guidelines. Contribute to cross functional system architecture and rapid prototyping while bringing the system online step by step.

* Design customized landing pages showing off the purchased products and its contributions to reducing carbon footprint and financial savings in an extremely stylish Tesla way. * Design and implement user interfaces for web and mobile devices for Tesla Energy products. * Design user interfaces spanning customer and professional operator interfaces, from consumers to product support specialists. * Define user experience from first visit at Teslaenergy.com to managing large deployed multi-site systems. * Mockup and wireframe new UIs and collect feedback. * Prioritize and manage roadmaps for user interfaces. * Review product usability including conducting early customer feedback and deployments.

* Proven experience in designing user interfaces, provide portfolio or work samples * Experience with App design and UI implementation for common mobile platforms (iOS, Android) * Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3 * Experience in visualizing technical details and data in a simple intuitive way * Experience with user interfaces and usability spanning consumer and professional users * Experience working in an Agile development environment and a continuous deployment process * Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced, collaborative environment * MS/BS degree in CS or MFA/MBA in Graphic Design with applicable implementation experience * 5+ years of UI and UX design and implementation experience
