Summary
Involvement in a variety of challenging tax compliance, tax accounting, and research projects in order to provide valuable contributions to the Tax Department, while obtaining hands-on experience and expanding knowledge in corporate tax.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparation of federal income tax return; preparation of state, local and selected foreign income tax returns, estimates and extensions. Ensure adequate file documentation - Preparation of US reporting requirements for foreign entities (i.e. Forms 5471) - Preparation of Foundation return - Analyze and respond to state tax notices or adjustments - Analyze, research and resolve tax treatment of various transactions/items - Gather data and analyze information for miscellaneous income tax projects **Sales & Use, Property and Business License Taxes** - Assist in sales & use tax area; including review, analysis and electronic documentation of exemption certificates - Prepare property tax returns and business license tax returns. Ensure adequate file documentation - Research tax treatment of transactions by reviewing various state tax laws **Other** - Assist with preparation of quarterly tax provisions and application of ASC 740 - Assist with tax research & planning projects - Assist with Treasury projects - Organize mailings for various projects such as estimated tax payments, tax return filings, and exemption certificate expiration notifications - Respond to W-9 requests - Other projects as assigned
Ideal Candidate
- Pursuing a Bachelors Degree with an accounting emphasis from an accredited university - Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles - Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with strong detail orientation - Strong oral and written communication skills - Self motivated - Well developed computer skills, including MS Office
